News story on Gordon Brown's proposed 'terror crackdown':

Britons face bag searches and airport-style scanners in railway stations, and the end of the underground car park in Gordon Brown's vision for Fortress Britain.

The Prime Minister yesterday told MPs that "terrorism can hit us anywhere" and the only solution is to strengthen security.

All this because we allowed mass immigration by muslims into this country. But rather than turn Britain into a police state, why not just rectify the original mistake? Also, isn't the whole point of a 'fortress' to protect against external threats? Something which is an inconvenience only to outsiders.
